One of my most successful paintings, I feel I accomplished my goal of trying to convey the scorching heat of the desert. The model, my step-daughter Heather Griesser, appears to be listening for the returning beat of a distant drummer. This painting was a succesfull entrant in the international show Aim For Arts and a finalist in the Artist's Magazine's 2000 Portrait Competition.
